Resource relationships in Managed Service for OpenSearch
With Managed Service for OpenSearch, you can deploy and maintain OpenSearch server clusters in the Nebius AI infrastructure.
OpenSearch is a set of search and analytical resources for real-time application monitoring, log analysis, and search across websites. OpenSearch clusters consist of one or more node groups with various resources that handle a variety of tasks.
When creating a cluster, specify the following:
-
Node classes: VM templates for deploying the cluster nodes.
-
Node groups: Sets of multiple linked nodes with specific configuration and roles:
-
admin
user password. This is a special user that is required for managing clusters and cannot be deleted. It is assigned the
superuser
role and can perform any operations on clusters.Tip
This user is not intended for routine jobs; for those, we recommend creating regular users. For more information, see Managing OpenSearch users.
-
OpenSearch version.
An OpenSearch cluster created in a folder can be accessed by all VMs connected to the same cloud network as the cluster.
A cluster with a single-node group does not guarantee fault tolerance. A cluster with multiple nodes automatically provides fault tolerance for the MANAGER
role. To ensure data safety in such a cluster, you need to configure index sharding and replication.
Alert
The service can automatically access the system and diagnostic information of your databases to build monitoring charts and maintain your cluster health. The service never queries or uses the data you saved to the database.
