Stopping and starting PostgreSQL clusters
You can stop and restart a PostgreSQL DB cluster, if required. You are not charged while your cluster is stopped: you continue to pay only for the storage size and backups based on the pricing policy.
Stopping a cluster
You can stop the cluster if you're not going to use the DBMS you launched for a while.
Note
A cluster that has no backups cannot be stopped. To stop it, create its backup.
- Go to the folder page and select Managed Service for PostgreSQL.
- Select the desired cluster in the list, click
- Confirm that you want to stop the cluster and click Stop.
If you don't have the Nebius AI command line interface yet, install and initialize it.
The folder specified in the CLI profile is used by default. You can specify a different folder using the --folder-name
or --folder-id
parameter.
To stop a cluster, run the command:
ncp managed-postgresql cluster stop <cluster name or ID>
You can find out the cluster ID and name in a list of clusters in the folder.
Starting a cluster
You can restart STOPPED clusters.
- Go to the folder page and select Managed Service for PostgreSQL.
- Select the stopped cluster in the list, click
- Confirm that you want to start the cluster: click Start in the dialog box that opens.
If you don't have the Nebius AI command line interface yet, install and initialize it.
The folder specified in the CLI profile is used by default. You can specify a different folder using the --folder-name
or --folder-id
parameter.
To start a stopped cluster, run the command:
ncp managed-postgresql cluster start <cluster name or ID>
You can query the cluster ID and name with a list of clusters in the folder.
