Apache Kafka® is a stream-processing solution for collecting, processing, storing, and analysing data at scale. Excellent performance, low latency, fault tolerance, and high throughput allow Kafka to handle thousands of messages per second, build data pipelines, leverage real-time data streams, enable operational metrics, and integrate data across many sources.
Kafka combines three key capabilities:
- To publish (write) and subscribe to (read) streams of events, including continuous import/export of your data from other systems.
- To store streams of events durably and reliably for as long as you want.
- To process streams of events as they occur or retrospectively.
